[person name=”Brian Donovan” picture=”http://etcmedia.co/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Website-Headshots-Brian.jpg” title=”Junior Assistant Vice President in Training” linkedin=”http://linkedin.com” ]While attending East Carolina University, I had a project where we had to write a script for a short film, draw a storyboard, build a set, shoot everything within a three hour class, and edit before the end of the semester. When I walked off set, I just knew. I pushed my crew to get over 40 shots in 3 hours. I kept them having fun, working hard, and learned a very important lesson…give someone a slice of pizza, and you’ve got their loyalty. I called my parents that night to tell them that I had discovered what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I feel lucky knowing that I do what I love, and I love what I do.
Some projects are more enjoyable than others, some more challenging. It’s the creative process of conceptualization that I really enjoy. I love finding the benefits of a client’s product or service, and finding an interesting way to brag about it to the masses. When we get a new client at etc. media, we act as honorary employees. Their goals are my goals. The most rewarding part of creating a marketing campaign is getting that phone call or that email that says “Hey, it’s working!”[/person]
